How to Drive in Snow Safely

Before the start of hard-hitting snowy weather, make yourself prepared for a safe and sound car driving. Some people believe that a skillful car driver can handle the bad weather condition easily. It is needed to know some basic guidelines and prepare your vehicle for the uncertain weather.

Traction

The foremost link between the road and the truck are a patch of rubber tire. If the tire has made or warn, you will have to face a terrible situation in snow weather condition. It is necessary to keep the tire in the best condition in winter season. Check the depth of tread and change the damage tire before the start of heavy snow weather. The tire should be appropriate to bear the load. It is better to use specially designed tires for snow. If there is water or snow on the road, slow down the speed of your car. Always keep a distance between your car and other vehicles on the roads.

Change the tire in the form of sets

It is well known that tires are highly expensive. Most of the landscapers face deficiency of money and prefer to replace only one bad tire. It is unjustified and wrong decision. Always change the tires with four set. If there are new tires, the automobile can move on slick surfaces because the rear tires always push the fronts. Similarly, if you have used old tires on the back and have bought tires for front only, the rear tires will lose the road grip on slick surfaces. It is suggested to get four new tires and let them rotate for five hundred miles to get even wear.

Control trailer skid

Whether you are an experienced car driver, you must need some guidelines to enjoy the risk free driving in the winter season. With the start of winter, make use of particular snow tires, drive with slow speed with perfect accelerating features. In case of trailer event, do not use break or turn in the form of skid. The better option is to use more power and start your driving. It is recommended to join a school for winter tailoring and learn to drive in a controlled environment.

Light the road

The fog lights help the drivers to view the upcoming traffic in bad weather condition. Adjust the light properly and use fog lights to enhance the performance on the road.

Use of windshields’ vipers

In order to check the road, the windshield should be cleared. If the edges of viper are damaged, they cannot clear the fog from the windscreen. Change the wiper blades and purchase silicon vipers and use cleaner for windshield to get the best view.

Safely winch

If your winch controls cable is out of order, you as well as other motorist are in trouble. Check the winch safely and enhance the winch pull by saving on battery drain. Don’t attach the winch cable to suspension parts, bumper or tow ball.

Improve the bulbs of the headlight

Before the start of winter upgrade the bulbs and change the used halogen bulbs. The better option is to use LED lights.
